What does FAAT CATS do with your money?

  • Supports Rhode Island foster boys, 10 years and older, to have a family reunion with the family that is left, their siblings. All your money (100%) pays for two weeks of outdoor camping, sleeping bags and money in their pocket. FAAT CATS hope is they wills stay connected and have a better life if they do not get adopted. 

What are the fees associated with adopting a Foster Child in America?

In our case (very typical) a $500 fee for the MAPP class and home study and that was refunded if we adopted a child. That came out to zero. So really what is the money for in overseas adoption? It pays for the time-consuming job of dealing with all the legal, emotional, and territorial issues that are part of any adoption, foreign and domestic. In Foster Care Adoption, you are the advocate for that child that needs a home. Your state government covers the legal costs; you are in charge of the emotional impact. Territorial issues aren't that big as it takes place in the same country. One often overlook advantage in choosing foster adoption is the requirement that you take MAPP. That training will do two things. Either  get you as ready as you can be for "that child" to enter your life  or let you see you don't have what it takes to get the job done.
